road signs

In case you drive the AlCan sometime soon and are as unfamiliar with what this sign exactly means as we were, let me tell you... it exactly means, "Slow your big red truck and huge heavy trailer down because you are about to hit loose gravel, or a lane of half gravel, half pavement or any other sort of bumpiness that could make your truck fishtail right off the road if traveling at a speed greater than 20mph." We didn't know initially, but were quick studies. As I hope you will all travel the AlCan and come visit us, this blog might just come in handy.

And the falling rocks... now, really, what is the intent of this sign? Can it really "warn" us?

Maybe instead of that it should be Rocks on the road. I've heard of several people going through areas with falling rocks, running over them and getting car damage, bad stuff.
